July Teaching Series – Summer Reading – Nothing says summer vacation quite like a new book to read. This year, instead of diving into the stories of someone else’s life, whether fact or fiction, why not dive into the story of your life. This July, at the St. Johns Campus, we invite you to turn the page on a book that fosters and encourages your life of faith. During this 4-week teaching series titled, Summer Reading, we will explore four books and focus on how we grow in grace, identity, calling, and hope. Jump ahead by picking up one, or all, of these featured books where ever you purchase books. Or, pick them up from the Pages and Prayers stand in the St. Johns Campus lobby. The four books featured in the Summer Reading series are:
Failing Faith by Wade Bearden
Fully You by Joel Malm
Be the Switch by Jonathan Pearson
The Hidden Option by Jonathan Malm
August Teaching Series – Belief: What We Believe –What do you believe? It’s a simple question to ask, but often a challenging question to answer. Living in a culture centuries after the early church, what foundational belief does the church still hold? On August 4th, explore the foundational beliefs of the early church that have endured to our current day and age in our new teaching series, Belief: What We Believe. Join in the conversation as we spend five weeks dissecting the foundational beliefs found in the Apostle’s Creed. “I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.”
PIZZA WITH THE PASTOR – If you are newer to Redeemer we would love to have you join us at Pizza with the Pastor. This is a time for you and your family to meet with Pastor Rod, Pastor Tim, staff, and others who are new to Redeemer Church and join in a casual conversation. Reserve your spot today. There is no cost to attend. To sign up, email Wendy Elliott at firstname.lastname@example.org.
OFFERING ENVELOPES – Many members of our church family feel that having preprinted offering envelopes is a convenient way to give their weekly/monthly tithes and offerings. St. Johns Campus will be making the switch to the DeWitt Campus mailed envelopes for the coming year. Once a month these envelopes are sent out for the upcoming month and include the envelopes for each Sunday of the month and any special offering for the month. If you like the convenience of envelopes and would like to be added to this system please contact Marie in the St. Johns campus office at 224-6859, or email her at Redeemer.email@example.com so we can include you in the mailing for the first of the year. Please respond even if you had envelopes and used them this year, or you haven’t had them and would like to have envelopes. Note: The use of offering envelopes help us to know how you want your contributions to be used. We also offer Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) and Text-to-Give 517-731-0518. To find out more about giving at Redeemer go to https://www.myredeemer.church/stjohns/ministries/giving/
