The mission of the Friendship Ministry is to connect people with the love and life of Jesus Christ throughout all stages of life. Utilizing a network of volunteers, the Redeemer Friendship Ministry reaches out to individuals who are homebound or residing in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult foster care homes. Friendship Ministers offer caring visits and companionship to many who are lonely and may be isolated from their community of faith. In addition to bringing the love of Christ, Friendship Ministers bring devotions and, if desired, communion.
How to Get Involved
- Volunteer to serve as a Friendship Minister. Be willing to consistently visit someone at least once or twice a month to forge a relationship.
- Refer a shut-in to the ministry. If you know of an adult here at Redeemer who could benefit from having these types of visits, please notify the church or one of the individuals listed below to have him/her included in the ministry.
- Pray for those visited, their families and the Friendship Ministers.
