NEW TEACHING SERIES: The Power of Hope
For the next teaching series, starting September 8th, Pastor Rod and Pastor Tim will teach the same series at both campuses, with only one Podcast recorded. What do you do when you don’t like the circumstances of your life and it seems as if those circumstances aren’t going to change anytime soon? Jeremiah, chapter 29 has been considered one of the most important documents of the Old Testament. Undaunted by the 800 miles that separated him from his mission field, Jeremiah wrote a letter to God’s people who were in exile in Babylon. The letter was a comfort to those broken with homesickness and confusion. His every word, read and circulated among them, must have brought to mind all the ways that Jeremiah had tried to reach them with the truth. But these words reach into our time, as well, and remind us of God’s provision in our own places of exile. In verse 13, the Lord says: “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Based on the example of God’s dealings with His people, this new teaching series is a word of encouragement for those of us today who don’t like the circumstances of our life…and can’t see a hopeful way forward.
EXCITING NEWS!!! – Meijer Simply Give Program
Redeemer Food Pantry is the recipient again (HOORAY!!) for the Meijer Simply Give Program from August 18th – September 28th!! Since Meijer changed their guidelines this year which resulted in the Food Pantry receiving $60,000 less than previous years, so being picked twice is a huge blessing. Our goal is to raise $5,000 again to get the Meijer double match of $10,000 resulting in $15,000 of gift cards for our Food Pantry! Our double match days are Friday, August 30th & Friday, September 13th. To ensure that we reach the cap of $5,000 we are asking everyone that would like to make a donation to please give it through the church and we will take one check to Meijer. Making a donation through Redeemer will also ensure that your donation shows up on your giving statement for end of the year tax purposes. If you would like to make a donation, please mark Meijer on your check or envelope and place it in the offering plate. Checks can be made out to Redeemer Church. 100% of the donated funds will be given to us to purchase food for the Redeemer Food Pantry to help feed hungry families in Clinton County. If you would prefer to make your donation directly to Meijer, that is fine too – either pick up a Simply Give card from the church lobby and take it to the Meijer check out in DeWitt or pick up a card directly at DeWitt Meijer from the display and take it through the check out. Thank You for your support in feeding Clinton County through the Redeemer Food Pantry!
